Christmas Eve is one of my very favorite days of the year! I think I like it almost more than Christmas morning! Since moving to Vegas almost five years ago we have developed our own little family traditions and I think the kids are really starting to look forward to them! Christmas Eve is spent picking up the house a little bit so it will be clean for Santa (maybe they don't love this one haha!). After that we go to an early dinner/late lunch. My family has always done this in Utah and I love it because it gets us out of the house and makes the night go a bit quicker... not to mention I don't have to cook!! We usually go to see some lights after dinner too. This year we went to Red Robin, I know very special right haha! We went later than we normally do so not much was open and the girls really like Red Robin so it was fine. Afterwards we went right home since it was getting pretty late and we wanted to make sure we were ready when Santa came!! While we were gone Papa Elf stopped by our house! We always seem to miss him!! The girls were soooo excited to see if he stopped by and they were even more excited when they found all the fun things he left for them!! The above picture is Elliott reading the note from Papa Elf. He told the girls they had been very goof that year and Santa sent him down early to thank them!
yay! New Christmas Jammies! Madden was so tired she missed all the fun but hurried and put her in new jammies before putting her to bed. He also brought us the game Qwirkle and it has been so much fun to play! Thanks Papa Elf!!
The other thing we do on Christmas Eve is open sister gifts. We didn't do anything for Madden this year since she didn't know but Elliott and Rya both got each other a gift!
Rya bought Elliott a necklace that she had been asking for! And Elliott bought Rya set of Hello Kitty bubble bath! They were both so happy!

Rya with her bubble bath! After opening out gifts we played a little bit of Qwirkle and then watched a Christmas movie in our new Jammies. When it was way past bed time and mommy said we HAD to finally go to bed we set out some yummy cookies for Santa and made sure we left some oatmeal and carrots on the porch for the reindeer! yay for Christmas Eve and all the excitement!!
